Safe At Home — March 2010 Fundraiser

The Safe at Home event has come and gone but the powerful words of both speakers, Dave Dravecky and Paula Oprea, are alive on our minds and in our hearts. Over 300 friends and supporters joined us for this special event at The Lincoln Center in downtown Spokane on March 20, 2010.

A Private Reception with Dave Dravecky introduced the evening. Over 100 supporters joined Dave during this social pre-event. Attendees had opportunity to meet Dave and enjoyed a personal photograph with both he and their friends and family.

A successful silent auction presented opportunity for attendees to bid for autographed baseballs which were featured at each table.

Paula Oprea, President of Compassion & Care, a Romanian NGO whom Transition’s Gate supports, told her powerful personal story while describing the tremendous needs of women and families in her country.

Dave Dravecky drew the evening to a close as he painted a visual picture of his personal tragedy and battles through cancer, the loss of his pitching arm and his professional baseball career, nearly his life and the health of his marriage and family. Dave’s story has ended, his life is devoted to telling others of the power of God in his life through tragedy, healing and restoration. It was a powerful evening where God was glorified and attendees were blessed.
